aka Bun

The Heart-Stealer and Counter-Surfer
Bun arrived as part of a group of lambs and kids who had endured a difficult start. Like many livestock rescues in South Africa, she came to us thin, struggling with parasites, and facing severe digestive issues. Back then, we weren't even sure what breed of goat she was; we just knew she needed a soft place to land.
True to her resilient spirit, Bun was one of the first to decide that humans might actually be okay. What started as curious glances from a distance soon turned into a permanent shadow. Today, she has grown into a healthy, interactive, and incredibly cuddly soul who thrives on connection.
The Resident Mischief-Maker
Don’t let those cuddles fool you—Bun is easily one of the naughtiest residents on the property! If there is a counter with food on it or a gate left slightly ajar, Bun is inevitably there. She has a sixth sense for treats and is always the first to lead the charge when she thinks something tasty is being handed out.
Why We Love Her
Bun’s favorite way to demand attention is by gently "nibbling" on our clothes to make sure we know she’s there. Working with her is a daily reminder of why we do what we do: seeing a sickly, timid animal transform into a confident, affectionate friend who knows she is safe and deeply loved.
