When Aimee arrived at Besida, she was fighting for her life. We didn't know it then, but she was carrying "precious cargo." When Alcuin arrived, he didn't just join the sanctuary—he took it over!

His name means "Sanctuary Friend," but to those who know him daily, he’s a piece of work in the best possible way. From day one, Alcuin has been stubborn, demanding, and cute enough to get away with absolutely everything.

While his mom, Aimee, recovered her health and found her confidence, Alcuin was busy hitting every developmental milestone with a signature flourish. He didn't just learn to jump; he performed "parkour." He didn't just bleat; he gave us a piece of his mind.

Alcuin is a vocal fellow who knows exactly what he wants (and usually, he gets it!). Whether it’s a specific snack or a bit of extra attention, he makes sure his voice is heard across the sanctuary.

Networking at the Top

A true "power player," Alcuin hasn't just stuck to the goat herd. He’s managed to secure a high-level friendship with Devi, our resident sheep who inspired the very birth of Besida.

Having "Mr. Sheep" as a mentor means Alcuin is learning from the best. With his mom nearby and his high-profile connections, this little man is living his best life—a life where his only "job" is to grow, play, and be loved.

The Future King of Besida

Watching Alcuin develop is a joy. He represents the "happily ever after" of Aimee’s harrowing rescue journey. He is a goat who will never know the fear his mother felt; he only knows the safety of the sanctuary and the warmth of a community that was waiting for him before we even knew he existed.
