Part of a group of very skinny and neglected lambs I saw at an auction and felt sorry for. I knew I had to get them home. Em was the smallest of the group and infested with parasites. She had scours, she was sickly. We sat with her through nights trying to get her tummy sorted and the parasite load down.
She grew into one of the most beautiful Boer goats. She is second in line in the Matriarchy it seems, and she carries her duty with grace and so much poise. She never says no to a cuddle, and she will also never pass on a treat. She gives me such a sense of calm when I look at her, she is amazing with lambs that are born and discipline them so gently. It is an honor to have her in the herd and she surprises me every day with how she helps to handle the herd.
