Bella is a Jack Russel Terrier that is a bit of a dud. She has no normal JRT traits. She prefers staying in bed and doesn’t really bark or hunt. Her own shadow frightens her.
She was left behind when we moved into the plot next door. Not deemed important enough to take with. She was extremely scared and spent her first 3 days on my hip. She would run from the other dogs and hide if they wanted to say hi.
Eventually, she relaxed and started moving around, but that little dog still prefers humans to other animals, and she loves running along when we are feeding and moving farm animals. She can live in harmony with any animal as she only has eyes for Mom.
The only doggy on the premises that doesn’t need to be leashed to go anywhere. In the veld, while going for a walk, or visiting Gran next door, she doesn’t leave my side and I never have to look for her. She has become an integral part of our family and I couldn’t imagine my life without her.
