When Abby first joined the Besida family in July 2025, she was, quite honestly, a bit of a challenge. Fearful and protective, she guarded her food closely and wasn’t afraid to use her teeth—even with us directors—to keep the world at a distance. Abby simply didn't want to know about this "love thing" yet.

But wow, did this old lady surprise us! For four weeks, we gave her all the space she needed, moving slowly around her and ensuring the other dogs didn't crowd her. Then, almost like a lightning strike, everything changed.

It was as if she settled overnight. Abby began engaging with humans and animals alike; she started shyly asking for hugs, accepting kisses (though she’d never admit it!), and eventually even discovered the joy of playing with the other dogs.

Today, she no longer guards her resources and has become a true "cuddle bug" who shares a deep bond with both directors.

We couldn't be more proud of this eccentric breath of fresh air. Welcome to the family, Abbel Babble—where no animal is left behind.
